The company is situated in Finland in Ähtäri. The marsh, named Lehtosuo and owned by the company, turned out to have a peat layer of very high quality suitable for producing peat products. 

The Geological Survey of Finland examined the occurrence of the peat and the results were more than encouraging. The raw material is very old and its consistency is ideal for treatment purposes.

The trademark Lehto Peat was registered in the beginning of year 2002.
